Olive Oil

Het Vlock Casteel was one of the first South African producers to release single varietal olive oils such as Mission, Frantoio, Leccino and Coratina. Each displays unique characteristics with regard to flavour, fruitiness and intensity.

These olive oils will still be released in future under the Het Vlock Casteel lable, alongside our flagship olive oil blend of Frantoio, Leccino and Coratina which combines all of these characteristics in one unique oil. Lemon infused olive oil is also made.

Frantoio

In this olive oil the positive attributes are  green grass and a herb flavour. This oil compliments a green salad with rocket, nuts and parmesan cheese as well as strong flavoured vegetables.

Leccino

In this olive oil the positive attributes are green grass as well as a lingering nuttiness. This oil compliments chicken, fish, salads as well as savoury rice.

Coratina

In this olive oil, the positive attributes are pepperiness. This oil compliments pastas as well as red meats and venison.

A fine blend of Frantoio, Leccino and Coratina

This is Het Vlock Casteel’s flagship olive oil. In this olive oil, the positive attributes are ripe almonds, walnuts, lemon as well as a distinct green grass and ripe olives tone. This oil compliments all food types.
